Violet Has Opinions About Watermelon | Easley SC Portrait Photographer

They were so sure she was a boy.

Emilee and Greg had it all figured out. They were convinced they were having a baby boy. Then they found out they were having a girl, and everything changed. Now they can't imagine it any other way.
That girl is Violet Mallory Morgan. In July, she came to her half birthday session with a big personality and very strong opinions.
A Name With Love Built In
Violet is named after Emilee's Memaw, who was also named Violet. That is a big name to carry, and it fits her. It's a little piece of family history wrapped around a brand new baby.

Pink Backdrop, Watermelon, and a Firm No
We planned a half birthday session with a soft pink backdrop and a juicy slice of watermelon. It was going to be so cute.
Violet had other plans. She wanted nothing to do with that watermelon. Not one lick. She looked at it, looked at us, and moved on with her day.
We laughed, and honestly, it made the session even better. A baby who knows what she likes is a baby with personality.
Wobbles and Victories

Violet was still learning to sit up, so she was not quite steady yet. Every few minutes she would lean, wobble,
and catch herself. We kept things close and cozy, and we cheered every time she held her pose.
Those little wobbles ended up giving us some of the sweetest images of the day.
Six Months of Silly
Violet is silly. There is really no other way to say it.
She smiles at everyone she meets. She smiles at the animals in the house too, and they are some of her best friends. She makes goofy noises that seem to come out of nowhere. And when she gets in her bouncer, she jumps like she is trying to touch the ceiling.

Squash, Zucchini, and Big Opinions
Violet's favorite thing in the whole world was trying solid foods. So far she had tasted squash and zucchini. Watermelon just did not make the list that day, and that's okay. She is a girl who knows her veggies.
That Gummy Smile
Emilee said the best thing about this age is Violet's "gummy but huge smile." It really is a showstopper. No teeth yet, just joy stretched across her whole face.
This stage moves fast. Months later, so much has already changed. That is exactly why these little in-between moments are worth saving.

A Note for Violet
Emilee shared what she wants Violet to know someday. She wants her to know that she "brought so much joy in such a stressful and tiring time" in their lives.
Violet, if you are reading this someday, you were wanted and you were loved. You made hard days softer. Your mom and dad saw it, and so did I.
Emilee also said parenthood surprised her most with how much love she feels. It even taught her to love herself for Violet's sake. That is a beautiful way to grow.
Thank You, Morgan Family

Emilee, and Violet, thank you for spending part of your day with me. Your family feels warm and easy to be around. Between the giggles, the goofy noises, and that big gummy grin, I left the session smiling too.
Some sessions are about perfect poses. This one was about real joy, and that is what I remember most.
I am so excited to see Violet again at nine months. I can't wait to see what she has learned since July.
Thinking About a Session with an Easley SC Portrait Photographer?
If you have a little one who changes every week, you don't have to wait for a big moment. Half birthdays count. Wobbly sitting counts. Refusing the watermelon counts.
Whenever you feel ready, ths Easley SC Portrait Photographer would love to hear your story. No pressure and no rush.
