A surprise middle-of-the-night rush to the hospital and a dad who kept unpacking their bags in every room—Harper’s story started fast, funny, and full of love.
Harper decided she didn’t need to wait for her due date! Mary Kate went into labor two weeks early, catching them both completely by surprise.

She laughed as she told me how quickly everything happened. When they arrived at the hospital, she was already eight centimeters dilated. Logan admitted he wasn’t sure what to expect and kept thinking each room they entered was the one, so he kept putting their bags down, ready to settle in, only to be told to move again.
Once they finally made it to labor and delivery, things slowed down just enough for Mary Kate to get her epidural and take a breath. Some hours later, Harper finally made her big entrance into the world.

I’ve known Mary Kate and Logan Trively for a few years now. I actually photographed their wedding back in 2020! Seeing them as new parents, felt so special.
When I saw them again for their newborn session, they had that easy, peaceful glow that comes with new parenthood. The kind that says, we’re tired but so in love.

Mary Kate told me her favorite part of being a parent is everything. The sweet cuddles, the contact naps, and now, the little smiles that make every day feel new. She said it’s wild how fast time is going by and how quickly Harper is changing.
It’s such a familiar truth for parents, those first weeks blur together, and before you know it, that tiny newborn starts showing their personality.

I loved hearing how they chose her name. Mary Kate said she came across the name Harper in a book she was reading and mentioned it to Logan. They both loved it instantly, and that was that. Simple, sweet, and just right for their little girl.
As a Greenville Newborn Photographer, one of my favorite parts of the session was how relaxed it all felt. There was no rush, just quiet moments, soft laughter, and the kind of tenderness that can’t be posed.

As I packed up my camera that day, I couldn’t help but think back to their wedding. I remember how full of joy they were then, and now, with Harper in their arms, that joy feels even richer.
Mary Kate and Logan, thank you for letting me capture another milestone in your story. It makes my Greenville Newborn Photographer heart so happy! Harper is so lucky to grow up surrounded by your laughter, calm energy, and endless love.
